When Things Just Don’t Go Your Way

Do you ever have that kind of day where nothing seems to go the way that you think it should?

Like, nothing… You wake up later than planned. The cable guy who was supposed to show up “between 8-12” doesn’t show up until 12:30 while you were trying to feed the baby and get her down for nap. No matter how hard you try, naptime just doesn’t work. Then, just before the cable guy leaves, he informs you that rather than drilling a hole for the cable in the back bedroom wall, he instead drilled a hole through the baby’s bedroom wall by mistake. Oops… So that leads to a phone call that puts you on hold for 35 minutes when you should be getting supper ready for the husband.  Who, by the way, didn’t get home until after the baby went to sleep.  Then, to top it all off, as you were getting the baby ready for bath time, she pees… All. Over. Me.

Well, change all the “you’s” to “me’s” and that was my day yesterday. I know, pity party. Suck it up buttercup… But sometimes things just keep piling on top of each other and make me want to just throw in the towel. Call it a day and try again tomorrow. Continue reading

What I’ve Learned Since I Deleted Facebook

I’m not gonna lie, before I deleted Facebook, I was what I consider to be a closet facebooker…

I never posted much.  I prefered to stay behind the scences.   The occasional monthly update on my daughter, because really, who doesn’t want to see her adorable little face?  But, other than that I claimed that I only kept it to keep in touch with family and friends.  Except, I didn’t interact with people.  I would catch myself spending more and more time just scrolling through, looking at pictures, reading little articles about nothing in particular.

Facebook was becoming a time waster.  Instead of interacting with Andi, I would sit beside her with my face glued to my phone while she played.  Not that it’s a bad thing Continue reading
